Job description

Our co-founder, Sam, is getting ready to head off on maternity leave for 5 months and is looking for someone to take care of the PR and communications aspect of her role for 6 months as a Senior PR Account Executive.

We’re offering a part-time role focused on PR responsibilities. The role can be structured as either 3 or 4 days per week, with a pro rata salary of £27k. Hours can be flexible and spread across the week to suit your schedule; however, it’s essential that client weekly and monthly reports are completed and sent on Fridays.

You will ideally have a minimum of one-year’s agency or in-house public relations experience to apply for this role.

With the role, you’ll be managing a roster of client accounts and working to ensure campaigns are on track and achieving fantastic media coverage.

You will have the chance to develop PR strategies for clients while managing accounts daily to deliver high-profile media coverage. Ideally, you’ll bring strong media connections and a clear understanding of how to generate impactful headlines across print, online and broadcast platforms, including TV and radio.

The ideal candidate should have a grasp of the following:

  • Familiarity with national media, including print, online, broadcast and beyond.

  • An understanding of what makes a PR campaign engaging and newsworthy.

  • The ability to pitch stories to journalists effectively and secure high levels of coverage.

  • A basic understanding of "Search Engine Optimisation" and the value of backlinks generated through PR.

  • Awareness of elements that enhance a PR story or campaign, such as video content.

You must have an excellent standard of written and spoken English as you will be crafting press releases, features, proposals, strategies and communicating with clients and journalists daily.

Key skills required:

  • Creativity and confidence.

  • A clear and assured phone manner (you’ll be regularly speaking with journalists and clients, so being comfortable with phone calls and video calls is essential).

  • Strong time management abilities to handle your own workload effectively.

  • Excellent spelling, grammar and command of the English language.

  • Passion and determination to drive campaign success.

  • Problem-solving skills for client needs and campaign challenges.

  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic.

You will be responsible for your very own clients, from coming up with campaign ideas & formulating strategies and plans, to writing/distributing press releases and occasionally being required to attend client/new business meetings + pitches.

Although this is a temporary maternity-cover position, it’s ideal for someone looking to balance freelancing or personal projects with part-time work, or for a parent needing a role that fits around nursery and school drop-offs.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid or Remote working

  • Company pension

Schedule:

  • 3 or 4 days per week to be split across Monday to Friday (to be discussed and agreed – it’s worth nothing that weekly/monthly reports must be sent on Fridays)

Experience:

  • Public Relations: minimum 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid or Remote

Job Type: Part-time, maternity cover

Pay: £24,000.00 - £27,000.00 per year (pro rata)

Application deadline: 14/02/2025

To apply for the role, or if you have any questions, please email hello@seasononecomms.co.uk.

Please note that we are not looking to work with any recruiters or recruitment agencies.
